The sprawling backyard was bathed in elegant white fairy lights. Soft jazz music drifted through the high-end surround sound speakers. Business titans, prominent local executives, and respected industry leaders mingled gracefully across the stone patio, holding crystal flutes of vintage champagne.
I stood near the edge of the infinity pool, wearing a custom-tailored emerald silk gown that hugged my physique to absolute perfection. My hair fell in glossy, effortless waves, and my skin glowed with the radiant health of someone who was finally putting herself first.
Richard Vance approached me, raising his glass with a respectful, admiring grin.
"To our CEO," Richard toasted, clinking his glass against mine. "Under your leadership this past year, our firm has seen a hundred and fifty percent growth. You've completely transformed this company, Clara."
"Thank you, Richard," I smiled, taking a sip of the crisp champagne. "Vision and discipline go a long way when you remove dead weight from the equation."
