Chapter 3 - The Mistress UnmaskedSabrina’s face turned the color of ash. She stood up abruptly, her chair tipping backward and hitting the walnut floor with a sharp crash.

"This is insane," Sabrina hissed, grabbing her designer handbag. "Nathan, you told me your wife was a domestic housewife who didn't understand tech markets! You said she was completely detached from your business life!"
"She was detached," Nathan whispered, staring at his wife as if seeing a stranger who had hijacked the body of the woman he had taken for granted for over a decade. "Clara... we can talk about this. At home. Let's just cancel the dinner, we can go back—"
"There is no home, Nathan," Clara said, looking up from her papers with a gaze so cold it froze the air in his lungs. "The deed to the house on Maple Ridge has been in my sole name since the trust restructuring last Tuesday. And as for Nexora AI?"
She picked up a single sheet of paper—the ten-million-dollar term sheet Nathan had been dreaming of for six months—and slowly, deliberately, tore it directly down the center.

The sound of the paper ripping echoed like gunshots in the silent room.
"The funding is denied," Clara said, dropping the torn halves onto the white linen cloth. "Default on your bridge loans begins tomorrow morning. By Friday, the patent holders in Seattle will exercise their retention clauses, and Nexora will be liquidated for pennies on the dollar."
