Chapter 16 - The Final Blueprint

"What do you want, Julian?" I demanded, keeping my eyes locked on my brother while tracking Vanessa’s every move out of the corner of my vision. "You want the money? The company? Take it all. Just let Lily go home."
Julian stopped walking, leaning his weight onto his cane. He looked down at Lily, then back up at me with a sickeningly sweet expression. "Money is so pedestrian, Arthur. I don't want your money. I want your legacy. I want the world to know the truth about the great Arthur Vance."
He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a thick manila folder, tossing it onto the charred concrete at my feet. The folder flipped open, scattering loose pages across the ash.
I glanced down. They weren't architectural blueprints anymore. They were financial statements, signed confessions, and legal deeds—all legally transferring every single asset of my startup, my bank accounts, and my new apartment directly to Julian Vance. And right beneath them was a signed confession detailing how I had murdered my brother and framed my wife for an insurance fraud scheme.
"Sign it," Julian said simply, his voice dropping all warmth, replaced by a razor-sharp edge. "Sign your entire life away, or watch your daughter pay the architectural price for your sins."
"Daddy, what's happening?" Lily asked softly, finally looking up from her apple, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her innocent face. "Why is Uncle Julian being so mean?"
"Don't listen to him, sweetie," I choked out, dropping to my knees as I reached for the pen resting on the folder. My hands trembled violently. If I signed this, I would walk away a penniless criminal, stripped of everything I had spent a decade building. But if I didn't...
"Arthur, don't do it!" Vanessa screamed suddenly, dropping the gas canister and lunging forward. "He's lying! He doesn't want the company—he wants us all dead!"

Before Vanessa could take another step, Julian flicked his wrist. From the shadows behind the foundation, two burly men in dark suits emerged, grabbing Vanessa by the arms and pinning her against the concrete pillar of the garage.
"Shut her up," Julian commanded coldly.
