Chapter 10 - The Legend ReturnsThe hospital basement corridors were dead silent, lit only by the flickering emergency backup lights. Outside, the storm had reached its peak, thunder rattling the reinforced concrete foundations of the building.

I stood in the center of the subterranean armory room that Vance’s team had hastily set up, sliding my arms into the matte-black tactical vest. I strapped a combat knife to my forearm, checked the ammunition clips of my silenced tactical rifle, and adjusted the comms earpiece in my ear.

The reflection in the mirror didn't show Daniel Walker, the quiet bookstore owner who baked cookies with his daughter and worried about local property taxes. It showed The Ghost—scarred, lethal, and absolute in his mission.

"Commander," Vega's voice crackled through the comms. "Movement on the third-floor stairwell. Five hostile combatants, professional grade. They're bypassing security locks using military override codes."

"Let them in," I said quietly, stepping out into the dim corridor and vanishing into the shadows of the concrete pillars. "Let's remind them why legends never truly die."

As the heavy metal doors at the end of the hallway hissed open, and the shadowy figures of the enemy strike team poured into the corridor, I raised my rifle.

Ethan, Brandon, and Tyler had thought they were untouchable because they had money and power. They never understood a fundamental truth about the world:

Money fades. Power corrupts. But a father's wrath is eternal.

And the monsters hiding in the dark had just made the biggest mistake of their lives. They woke the Ghost.
