Chapter 12 - The Queen’s GambitFriday morning. Geneva, Switzerland.

The private airstrip outside the city was surrounded by thick, misty alpine fog. A sleek, black helicopter bearing no registration numbers descended smoothly onto the tarmac.
The door opened, and Maya stepped down.
She wore a custom-tailored midnight-blue trench coat, her hair tied back neatly, looking every bit the ruthless corporate director. Despite being escorted by four armed Swiss security guards supplied by the syndicate, her expression remained utterly unfazed.
They drove her through winding mountain roads until they reached an isolated, hyper-modern fortress built directly into the side of a glacier—a architectural marvel of steel, glass, and reinforced titanium.
Heavy steel doors slid open, revealing a vast, dimly lit subterranean chamber. Around the circular obsidian table sat seven of the most powerful, untouchable billionaires, politicians, and cartel leaders on Earth.
At the center sat The Chairman, his face finally emerging from the shadows as the overhead lights focused sharply on him. He was an elderly man with piercing silver eyes and an unsettling, polite smile.
"Welcome, Ms. Vance," The Chairman said, gesturing to the single vacant seat at the table. "We are honored that a thirteen-year-old girl had the courage to walk straight into the lion's den."
Maya did not flinch. She walked firmly across the polished obsidian floor, pulled out the heavy chrome chair, and sat down. She placed her thin leather portfolio neatly on the table.
"Lions?" Maya let out a cold, sharp laugh that echoed off the granite walls. "Please. Lions are predictable beasts. You gentlemen are nothing more than rats hiding in an expensive cage."
Gasps echoed around the table. Several syndicate leaders stood up in rage, slamming their hands on the obsidian surface.
"Insolent brat!" the German representative shouted, his face turning crimson. "You are addressing the supreme council of the world economy! We can crush your company with a single phone call!"
"Try it," Maya whispered softly, her eyes locking onto The Chairman with terrifying intensity.
She reached into her portfolio and slid a single flash drive across the table—stopping right in front of The Chairman's coffee cup.
The Chairman’s smile faltered slightly. He looked down at the drive, then back at Maya. "What is this?"
"This," Maya said, leaning forward and resting her elbows on the table, "is a complete decryption key linked to a dead-man’s switch. The moment I stepped onto your helicopter in New York, my automated system synchronized with secure servers across five allied intelligence agencies, Interpol, and global media outlets."
She paused, letting the heavy silence settle over the room.
"If I am not back on American soil within two hours, every single offshore account, illicit transaction, identity alias, and blood pact belonging to every person sitting at this table will be broadcast live to the entire planet."
The color drained entirely from the faces of the seven most powerful men on Earth. The master manipulators had been completely checkmated by a child.
The Chairman stared at her for a long, agonizing moment. Then, slowly, a look of profound, chilling respect spread across his aging face. He leaned back in his chair and began to softly clap his hands.
"Magnificent," The Chairman whispered, bowing his head slightly. "Absolute checkmate. What do you want, Queen Maya?"
May you like
Maya stood up slowly, smoothing down her coat, her eyes burning with the fire of total victory and absolute justice.
"I don't want a seat at your table," Maya said, her voice echoing through the massive vault like a final sentence. "I came here to dismantle it. Starting today, your empire belongs to me."
