Chapter 13 - The Collapse of the SyndicateThe silence inside the subterranean Alpine fortress was absolute. The soft clapping of The Chairman echoed off the cold granite walls, sounding less like applause and more like a countdown timer.

"You think a dead-man's switch saves you, child?" one of the syndicate leaders sneered, his voice trembling slightly as panic broke through his facade. "If we fall, the global economy collapses with us. Banks will fail, governments will tumble, and millions will starve. You are holding a nuclear weapon in a crowded room!"
Maya did not blink. She stood tall at the head of the obsidian table, her eyes piercing through the terrified expressions of the world's most untouchable elites.
"Let it burn, then," Maya replied, her voice cold and steady. "A corrupted system built on blood, extortion, and ruined lives deserves nothing less than total incineration. My father built things that lasted. You built your empires on quicksand."
She reached down, picked up her leather portfolio, and turned toward the heavy steel exit.

"You have twenty-four hours to hand over all cryptographic master keys, asset transfers, and operational command to Vance Global," Maya announced over her shoulder without breaking her stride. "Resign publicly, or watch your entire underground network unravel piece by piece on every screen across the globe."
As the heavy titanium doors slid open, revealing the misty alpine landing pad outside, The Chairman did not try to stop her. He simply watched her walk away with a strange, dark fascination, murmuring softly to himself, "The queen has claimed the board... Let us see if she can survive ruling the kingdom."
