Chapter 5 - Ambush at Dawn"Look at the news!" Vivian shrieked, her phone glowing violently in her hand as she stared at the screen.

Julian snatched the device from her grip. Headstone after headstone of media outlets screamed across the digital space with terrifying velocity:

And worse—an anonymous whistleblower had just uploaded a leaked financial document showing millions in hush-money transfers routed from West Enterprises to the local police precinct five years ago.

"They're leaking everything," Marcus muttered, typing furiously on his tablet. "The stock market opens in four hours. If we don't control the narrative right now, the board will call an emergency meeting to strip you of your CEO title, Julian."

Vivian’s face contorted with pure malice. She looked at Anna, then at Julian, realization dawning with sickening clarity. "This was a setup. All of it. You planned this media blitz from the second you stepped into this hotel, didn't you?"

Anna didn't deny it. She slowly turned to face Vivian, a cold, calculated smile touching her lips—a smile that looked chillingly like Julian’s own business face.

"Power isn't given, Miss Vance—or whatever title you were hoping to buy," Anna said softly. "It’s taken. And right now, the West empire belongs to the people you thought you could crush."

"Guards!" Julian bellowed toward the door.

Two burly security guards rushed in, but before they could lay a hand on Anna, the heavy oak doors opened again. This time, it wasn't hotel security. It was federal agents in dark suits, badges gleaming under the hallway lights.

"Julian West?" the lead agent said, stepping forward with a crisp white document. "You’re under federal investigation for corporate fraud, obstruction of justice, and the suppression of evidence related to the 2021 homicide of Elena Vance. You have the right to remain silent..."

The room spun. Vivian screamed, backing away from Julian as if he carried a plague.
