Chapter 8 - The Boardroom CoupThe boardroom of West Enterprises was packed to suffocation. Journalists, board members, and minority shareholders sat in tense silence under the massive glass dome of the top-floor amphitheater.

At the head of the polished obsidian table sat Jonathan West, looking every bit the triumphant patriarch in a tailored charcoal suit, adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses with an air of absolute smugness.
"As acting CEO," Jonathan began, his voice echoing through the microphone, "I move to dissolve the pending federal investigations through an internal restructuring. We will move past this unfortunate chapter of my nephew's mismanagement and—"
"I object."
The heavy double doors swung open with a dramatic bang.
All heads snapped toward the entrance. Walking down the center aisle was not a lawyer, nor a police officer—it was Anna. She wore a sharp, tailored white pantsuit, her hair styled in sleek waves, holding the worn leather briefcase under her arm. Behind her walked Marcus, carrying a stack of certified federal audit reports.
Gasps rippled through the room. Board members whispered frantically.
"Guards! Remove this intruder immediately!" Jonathan shouted, his face turning a mottled shade of purple. "How did a catering temp get past security?"
"I’m not a temp, Uncle Jonathan," Anna said smoothly, stepping up to the podium and placing the briefcase on the table with a sharp thud. "I’m the largest minority shareholder of West Enterprises."
The room erupted into chaos. Jonathan slammed his hands on the table. "That’s impossible! The West family holds controlling shares!"
"Not anymore," a calm voice echoed from the side entrance.
Julian West walked in, flanked by two federal marshals, wearing an orange jumpsuit but carrying an expression of absolute, cold triumph. He looked directly at his uncle. "I traded my cooperation for full immunity, Uncle. And part of that deal involved transferring my voting rights to the rightful owner of the West Tower legacy."

Jonathan stumbled back, the blood completely draining from his face. "You... you betrayed your own family?"
"Family?" Julian laughed bitterly. "You killed my father’s conscience, and you tried to frame me for a murder you orchestrated. Anna isn't destroying this company, Uncle. She’s performing surgery."
