During a black-tie charity gala celebrating Saint Aurelia’s new pediatric wing, my grandfather, Arthur Vance, suddenly gripped his chest. His glass of champagne shattered against the marble floor as his face turned pale gray. He collapsed into my arms, gasping for air.

"Grandfather!" I cried, dropping to my knees as security scrambled to clear the room.

Alexander rushed to Arthur’s side, immediately checking his pulse and dilated pupils. "His oxygen levels are dropping rapidly! Get a gurney! Now!"

Within minutes, Arthur was rushed into the high-dependency ICU. The preliminary blood screen revealed a terrifying finding: Arthur hadn't suffered a heart attack. He had been poisoned with a rare, slow-acting synthetic neurotoxin—one that was nearly undetectable in standard toxicology screens.

While I stood outside the ICU door, clutching my hand over my racing heart, Sarah Sterling walked up with an urgent security tablet.

"Audrey, we pulled the security footage from the VIP lounge," Sarah whispered, her face pale. "Twenty minutes before Arthur collapsed, a waiter served him a private vintage port. We tracked the waiter’s phone records. The payment came directly from a shell account tied to Julian Hayes."
