Chapter 13 - AUDREY TAKES THE THRONESHE WALKED IN WITH HER TWINS: The Unanimous Boardroom Coup That Shocked Wall Street!

The high-rise headquarters of Vance Global was packed with fifty of the world's most powerful institutional investors, hedge fund managers, and corrupt executives aligned with my exiled Uncle Richard.
Julian Hayes sat at the center of the executive table, wearing a million-dollar smile and a tailored Italian suit. Beside him was Uncle Richard’s lead attorney, holding a stack of fraudulent medical affidavits claiming Arthur Vance was in a permanent vegetative state.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Julian announced smooth as silk, adjusting his microphone. "With Arthur Vance permanently incapacitated, Vance Global requires immediate, firm leadership to prevent a stock crash. As the largest external shareholder block, my syndicate moves to appoint an interim Chairman—"
BANG!
The heavy mahogany doors of the boardroom swung open.
The room went dead silent.
I walked down the central aisle. I wasn't wearing a meek maternity dress or showing any sign of grief. I was clad in a sharp, blood-red bespoke suit, flanked by eight armed Vance security officers. And in my arms, held securely in custom leather chest carriers, were my healthy, six-month-old twins, Liam and Chloe.
Julian’s smile vanished instantly. "Audrey? What is the meaning of this intrusion? This is a private board meeting!"
"This is my company, Julian," I said, my voice cutting through the room like a razor blade.
I walked right up to the head of the table and unceremoniously dumped a thick gold-embossed leather folder right over Julian’s papers.
"By virtue of my grandfather’s legal living trust, updated three days before his hospitalization, I hold absolute Power of Attorney over all Vance family assets, including 62% of voting shares in Vance Global," I announced, looking around the room at every trembling executive. "Furthermore, my grandfather signed a full transfer of Executive Board Chairmanship to me, effective the moment he is physically unable to attend."

Julian leaped out of his seat. "This is absurd! You're a grieving mother with two premature babies! You don't know the first thing about managing a global conglomerate!"
"I managed my grandfather’s private off-shore portfolio for five years while Dominic thought I was making him dinner, Julian," I replied, a chilling smile touching my lips. "And my first executive order as Chairwoman is to strip your syndicate of all voting rights due to pending charges of corporate espionage and attempted murder."
