Chapter 10 - The True EmpireSix months later, the headlines in every major financial and lifestyle magazine told a completely different story from the corporate scandals of the past.

‘FROM MERGER TYCOON TO FAMILY MAN: ETHAN PARKER STEPS DOWN AS CEO TO FOUND THE WHITMORE MEDICAL FOUNDATION.’

In a sunlit garden overlooking the Manhattan skyline, a little five-year-old girl with bright hazel eyes was chasing a golden retriever across the green lawn, her laughter echoing brightly into the afternoon air.

Underneath a shaded white gazebo, Hannah sat reading a book, a gentle breeze rustling her hair, looking healthier, happier, and more radiant than she had in years.

Ethan walked out of the glass-paneled house carrying a tray with two cups of fresh coffee. He set them down on the patio table, walked over behind Hannah, and wrapped his arms gently around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Penny for your thoughts, Mr. Parker," Hannah murmured, leaning back against his chest with a warm smile.

Ethan looked out over the lawn, watching Lily trip over her own shoelaces and burst into giggles as the golden retriever licked her face. He thought back to that rainy night in the hospital lobby—the terror, the guilt, the cold corporate boardroom, and the terrifying realization that he had almost lost everything that truly mattered.

"I was just thinking," Ethan whispered, kissing the top of her head, "that I spent half my life building an empire out of paper, glass, and cold cash... and I almost missed out on the only kingdom that was ever worth having."

Hannah turned around in his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck, her hazel eyes sparkling with love and forgiveness.

"Well," she smiled softly, pressing her forehead against his. "Welcome home, Ethan. You finally got the job right."
