Chapter 10 - The Queen of the ShadowsThe wedding was not a public affair. There were no flashing cameras, no society gossip columns, and no politicians trying to buy their way into the guest list.

It was held in the private courtyard of the Moretti estate at sunset, surrounded only by the people who mattered—Marco, a few loyal capos, and the staff who had watched their quiet romance blossom from the ashes of terror.
Elena stood before the ivy-covered stone archway, breathtaking in a sleek, elegant white silk gown that hugged her curves, her dark hair pinned back with silver pins.
As she walked down the stone path, leaning on Marco’s arm to give her away as a gesture of brotherhood and respect, she looked up and saw Luca waiting for her.
He wore a tailored black tuxedo, his shoulders broad, his expression fierce and unwavering. But as his dark eyes locked onto hers, every hard edge melted away, leaving only absolute, unadulterated devotion.
When she reached him, Luca took her small hand in his, his fingers warm and steady.
"You look breathtaking," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
"You scrub up alright yourself, Mr. Moretti," she whispered with a playful smile.
The vows were short, powerful, and binding—not spoken to a church or a god, but sworn soul to soul in the heart of an empire built on survival and rebirth.
When the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, Luca didn't wait for permission. He pulled Elena fiercely into his arms and captured her lips in a deep, possessive, and triumphant kiss that made the gathered capos cheer and whistle.
Later that night, as the celebration faded into the quiet hum of the estate, Elena stood on the grand balcony of the master suite, looking out over the city lights that twinkled like stars across the skyline.
Strong arms slid around her waist, and Luca rested his chin on her shoulder, pulling her back against his chest.
"Penny for your thoughts, Mrs. Moretti," he whispered against her neck.
Elena smiled, turning slightly to wrap her arms around his neck, looking deep into the eyes of the man who had pulled her out of the darkest nightmare of her life and crowned her queen of his world.
"I was just thinking," she whispered softly, "about how lucky I am that I was washing dishes at three in the morning."
May you like
Luca smiled, pressing a tender kiss to her lips. "And I was thinking... I’d start a war all over again just to find you."
Down below, the city slept under the watchful eye of the Moretti empire. But inside these walls, there were no more bruises, no more fear, and no more hiding in the shadows. They had found their safe place, and nothing in this world could ever touch them again.
