Chapter 6 - The Trap is SetThe rain had stopped by dawn, leaving the city skyline glistening under a shroud of heavy, grey fog.

Inside the basement vault of the Moretti estate, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Luca stood at the head of a massive oak table, surrounded by his most trusted capos, including Marco. Maps of the city’s shipping ports, financial district, and Vance’s primary warehouse were pinned across the board.

Elena sat quietly in a corner chair, dressed in a sharp, tailored black blazer and trousers Luca had ordered for her overnight. She was no longer the bruised girl hiding in a maid’s uniform. She was the architect of Vance’s downfall.

"Vance is hurting," Marco reported, slamming a dossier onto the table. "Word on the street is he’s scrambling to liquidate his offshore accounts to pay off the Russian syndicate after yesterday’s botched raid. He thinks we're licking our wounds."

Luca leaned over the table, resting his weight on his knuckles, his eyes sharp as obsidian. "He thinks wrong. We don't just defend our turf; we dismantle his piece by piece."

He looked across the room, locking eyes with Elena.

"The main shipment of smuggled cash leaves the North Pier at midnight," Elena spoke up, her voice steady and clear for the first time. "I processed his ledgers for six months. I know every dummy corporation he uses. If we hit the North Pier, we cut off his oxygen."

Marco stared at her in shock, a slow grin spreading across his scarred face. "Damn, Boss. Where did you find her?"

"She found me," Luca replied, his gaze never leaving Elena. A faint, rare smile touched the corner of his mouth. "And now, we end this."

"Boss," one of the capos interjected cautiously, "if we hit the North Pier, the federal authorities and Vance’s private army will both converge on us. It’s a suicide mission if we don't have leverage."

Luca stood straight, adjusting his cuffs with chilling calm. "Who said anything about playing fair? Marco, leak the coordinates of Vance’s primary money-laundering warehouse to the federal task force anonymously. Let the cops raid his front door while we walk through the back and take everything he owns."

The room fell silent as the sheer brilliance of the strategy settled in. It was a checkmate before the game even truly began.

"And Vance?" Marco asked.

Luca’s eyes turned pitch black. "Save him for me."
