Chapter 10 - THE FOREVER LEASHTitle: The Wedding at the Dantis Estate: How the Mafia Boss Met His Match

Three months later, the sun shone brilliantly over the sprawling gardens of the Dantis estate, casting a warm, golden glow across white folding chairs, cascading floral arches, and a hundred impeccably dressed guests who looked like they belonged in a cinematic masterpiece.
There were senior capos in bespoke Armani suits, nervous-looking state politicians clutching glasses of champagne, and twelve very well-behaved rescue dogs sitting patiently in the front row wearing custom velvet bowties.
At the altar stood Aleandro Dantis. He wore a crisp black tuxedo, his dark hair neatly combed, his hands clasped tightly together as he waited. For the first time in his life, the most feared mafia boss on the East Coast looked genuinely nervous.
Then, the heavy oak doors of the mansion opened.
Music swelled through the garden speakers—not a traditional wedding march, but a soft, acoustic melody.
Daisy walked down the stone aisle. She was wearing a stunning, elegant white lace gown that hugged her full figure with breathtaking grace, her dark curls cascading over her shoulders, held in place by a delicate silver headband woven with tiny emerald stones. In her hands, instead of traditional roses, she carried a small, tasteful bouquet of wildflowers intertwined with homemade dog treats.
At her side, walking with proud, steady steps and wearing a large white velvet bow around his massive neck, was Barnaby.
The entire assembly stood in absolute, reverent silence. Even the hardened capos in the back row looked misty-eyed.
Aleandro felt his breath catch in his throat. As Daisy reached the altar, stepping up beside him, he couldn't take his eyes off her.
"You look..." Aleandro swallowed hard, his voice thick with emotion. "You look impossible."
"And you clean up remarkably well for a mafia warlord," Daisy whispered back with a radiant, teasing smile.
The officiant—a retired judge whose debt Aleandro had quietly forgiven two years prior—cleared his throat and began the ceremony, but neither of them was really listening to the words. Their eyes were locked together in an unbreakable, fierce connection.
When it came time for the rings, Salvatore stepped forward on cue. Instead of a velvet pillow, he proudly carried a small silver basket containing two matching platinum bands. And resting right between them was a small, polished silver dog tag engraved with a simple inscription: The Forever Leash.
Aleandro slid the ring onto Daisy’s finger, his warm, calloused hand gripping hers tightly.
"I told myself I hired you for the dog," Aleandro murmured softly, his dark eyes burning with absolute devotion as he leaned down to meet her lips. "That was the first lie I told myself."
"And what was the second?" Daisy whispered, her heart swelling with an overwhelming, perfect love.
May you like
"That I would ever, in a million lifetimes, let you go."
As their lips met in a deep, passionate kiss that made the entire garden erupt into thunderous applause and cheering, Barnaby let out a loud, happy bark, tossed his head back, and let out a long, contented sigh of pure joy.
