Chapter 16 - THE FIRES OF RETRIBUTIONTitle: Burning Down the Empire: The Fall of Arthur Vance

The glass mansion on the Maine cliffs echoed with the sharp shouts of federal agents and Dantis capos clearing the upper levels. Within twenty minutes, the Consortium had been completely dismantled—not through gang warfare or street executions, but through the cold, absolute precision of a digital takedown and a well-coordinated tactical raid.
Arthur Vance sat handcuffed to a metal chair in the center of the devastated conference room, his expensive suit wrinkled, his aristocratic composure utterly shattered.
Salvatore stood beside the door, holding a thick manila folder containing the final handover signatures. "The federal marshals are downstairs, Boss. They're taking Vance and his inner circle to a maximum-security federal penitentiary in Florence, Colorado. They'll never see daylight again."
Aleandro didn't look at Vance. His dark eyes were fixed entirely on Daisy, who stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the waves crash against the rocky shore below.
Aleandro walked over, slipping his arms around her waist from behind, pressing his face softly into the crook of her neck. He breathed in the familiar scent of lavender and dog shampoo that always grounded him, no matter how chaotic the world became.
"You did it," Aleandro whispered, his voice thick with a mixture of awe and profound relief. "The Consortium is gone. The war is over."
"It was never a war, Aleandro," Daisy replied softly, turning in his arms to look up into his dark, fierce eyes. "It was just a cleanup job. Somebody had to sweep the dirt off the porch."

Aleandro let out a low, rich chuckle, pulling her flush against his chest. He lowered his head and kissed her deeply, sealing the victory with a passion that burned brighter than any fire.
Behind them, as federal agents hauled a screaming Arthur Vance out toward the waiting helicopters, the Dantis Empire finally stepped out of the shadows—not as a syndicate built on fear and blood, but as an unshakable fortress built on absolute loyalty, unbreakable love, and a very brave cane corso waiting at home.
