Chapter 13 - The Net ClosesVictor Vance’s smug composure instantly evaporated. He spun around to look at Alexander, his voice dropping to a dangerous hiss. “What is this? You said she was loyal!”

“She’s lying! It’s forged!” Alexander lunged toward the table, but the two federal marshals stepped forward instantly, pinning his arms behind his back and forcing him down into a chair.

Arthur Sterling opened the yellow envelope, pulling out printed transcripts of encrypted chat logs, bank wire confirmations, and audio recordings. As he read through the first page, his face darkened into a severe scowl.

“My God,” Arthur breathed, looking up at the board members. “This isn't just corporate embezzlement. This is industrial sabotage and conspiracy to commit securities fraud.”

Emma stood up slowly from her chair. She straightened her ivory blazer, walked around the table, and stopped right in front of Alexander, who was struggling helplessly against the marshals' grip.

“You brought in private equity syndicates, hidden shell companies, and falsified bond blocks,” Emma said, her voice echoing in the silent boardroom. “You thought you outsmarted me by orchestrating a second ambush. But Alexander, you made the exact same mistake you made on our wedding night.”

“What mistake?” Alexander spat, his face red with fury and panic.

“You underestimated the people you abused,” Emma replied coldly. She turned to the federal marshals. “Take him away. And make sure the SEC and the Department of Justice receive complete copies of every file in that folder.”

“You can’t do this! Emma! EMMA!” Alexander screamed as the marshals dragged him backward out of the boardroom, his shouts echoing down the hallway until the heavy doors clicked shut.

Victor Vance slowly stood up, adjusting his trench coat, attempting to maintain a shred of dignity. He looked at Emma with a tight, nervous smile. “Well, Mrs. Carter, it seems business negotiations have taken an unexpected turn. I’ll be leaving now—”

“Not so fast, Victor,” Emma interrupted, gesturing toward the doorway.

Two local NYPD detectives stepped into the room, blocking his exit, holding an arrest warrant signed by a federal judge less than ten minutes prior.

“Victor Vance, you’re under arrest for interstate financial conspiracy and corporate racketeering,” one officer stated, snapping handcuffs onto his wrists before he could take another step.
