Chapter 6 - THE LINE CROSSED

The kiss wasn't gentle; it was a collision of two desperate souls crashing together in the dark. Damon’s lips were demanding, his tongue parting her lips with an overwhelming authority that stole the last remaining breath from her lungs. Alina let out a soft, helpless gasp, and in that instant, she gave in, her hands tangling into the dark hair at the nape of his neck, pulling him closer as the world outside the Vulkoff mansion ceased to exist.
He lifted her higher, setting her down directly on the polished mahogany surface of his desk, scattering a stack of confidential documents across the floor. He stepped between her thighs, his large hands sliding up the sides of her waist, burning hot even through the thin fabric of her sleepshirt.
"You have no idea what you're inviting into your life," Damon muttered against her neck, his lips trailing hot, shivering paths down to her collarbone, sucking a soft patch of skin that made her arch her back with a sharp cry.
"I know," she whispered, her fingers digging into the hard muscles of his shoulders. "I don't care."
He pulled back, his dark grey eyes searching her face with a mix of hunger and disbelief. "If I take you, Alina, there is no going back. You belong to me. Every breath, every second, every inch of you. Do you understand?"
"Yes," she answered without a second of hesitation.
The dam broke. Damon captured her mouth again in a ravenous, consuming kiss, his hands stripping away the oversized shirt with impatient efficiency. For the mafia boss who ruled through fear and isolation, this wasn't just physical release; it was an anchor in a storm of guilt. And for Alina, it was the terrifying, liberating realization that she was no longer a ghost—she was alive.

Hours later, as the first pale streaks of dawn began to bleed through the slim windows of the study, Alina lay curled against Damon’s chest on the leather sofa, his heavy arm draped protectively over her waist. The monster of the Vulkoff empire was fast asleep, his breathing deep and steady for the first time in years.
Alina stared up at the ceiling, tracing the faint outline of a scar on his forearm with her thumb. She knew the danger. She knew that if Viktor or any of the inner circle discovered this, they would put a bullet in her head before breakfast. But as Damon shifted in his sleep, pulling her closer against him with an instinctive, possessive grip, she knew she had crossed a line she could never walk back from.
