Chapter 10 - Dawn of a New EraTwo weeks later.

The morning sun washed over the sprawling manicured lawns and stone courtyards of the Moretti estate, casting a warm golden glow across the gardens.
The heavy iron security gates remained closed to the outside world, but inside, the atmosphere had transformed entirely. The dark, suffocating shadow of grief and paranoia that had haunted the estate for five years had finally been lifted.
In the bright, sunlit courtyard, five-year-old Lily laughed joyfully as she chased a golden retriever puppy across the emerald-green grass, her red raincoat tossed over a garden bench.
Elena stood on the wide stone front porch, leaning against the wooden railing, wearing a soft cream dress, her face radiant with a peace she hadn't felt in half a decade.
Footsteps sounded behind her.
Dominic walked out onto the porch, holding two cups of coffee. He handed one to Elena, wrapping his other arm securely around her waist, pulling her close against his chest.
Elena rested her head against his shoulder, watching their daughter play in the morning sunlight.
"Do you ever think about the day at Miller’s Market?" Elena asked softly, a gentle smile touching her lips. "If Lily hadn't dropped your wallet..."
Dominic kissed the top of her head, tightening his embrace. "I spent five years believing I had lost everything worth fighting for," Dominic murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "And it took a brave little girl with my eyes to show me that miracles don't just happen—sometimes, they walk right up to you in the rain."
And as the grandfather clock chimed peacefully in the distance, Dominic Moretti realized that the greatest victory wasn't the empire he ruled, but the family he had finally reclaimed. The morning sun warmed the stone courtyard of the Moretti estate, but inside Julian’s former study, the atmosphere remained chillingly cold. Dominic sat behind the heavy mahogany desk, carefully examining the physical items recovered from Julian’s personal safe.
Among the fake passports and offshore banking certificates lay a black leather journal embossed with the double-serpent crest of the Veritas Syndicate.
Elena walked quietly into the study, carrying a fresh cup of coffee, her eyes lingering on the ominous symbol stamped across the journal. "What is that?" she asked softly, setting the mug down beside his hand.
"Julian’s master record," Dominic replied, his voice tightening as his eyes scanned the handwritten pages. "He wasn't just a rogue advisor selling secrets to the Maronis. He was a founding regional director for Veritas in North America."

Elena gripped the edge of the desk, her breath catching. "Does Veritas know we're still alive?"
"They know now," Dominic said grimly, looking up at her with fierce determination. "Julian’s journal details a directive issued three days ago—before we arrested him. A contingency protocol targeting Lily."
