The sprawling grounds of the Moretti estate were bathed in the brilliant, warm sunlight of early summer. The iron security gates remained a symbol of boundary, but inside, the estate was filled with laughter, vibrant flower gardens, and the bright, carefree voice of little Lily playing tag with her golden retriever puppy across the emerald lawn.
Elena sat on the wide stone front porch, wearing a soft white summer dress, sipping iced tea as she watched Dominic walk across the grass toward her.
Dominic had removed his suit jacket, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, looking more relaxed and at peace than he had in five agonizing years.
He walked up the steps, sat down on the porch swing beside her, and pulled her gently against his side.
"Everything is secure," Dominic murmured, kissing her temple. "Vance’s network has been fully neutralized by federal authorities using Julian’s files. We are safe, Elena. Truly safe."

"No more ghosts," Dominic promised, tightening his embrace as he watched Lily run toward them with a handful of wild daisies.
