Chapter 22 - The Final LiquidationArthur stood up abruptly, his chair screeching loudly against the hardwood floor. Rage briefly flared through his wrinkled face, replacing the pathetic pleading with the familiar, ugly arrogance I remembered all too well.

“You ungrateful, cold-hearted witch!” Arthur roared, slamming his fist onto the glass desk. “David was right about you! You’re a parasite wearing a designer suit! Without our name, you’re nothing!”
I didn't flinch. I didn't raise my voice. I simply pressed the intercom button on my desk.
“Security,” I said calmly into the speaker. “Please escort Mr. Hayes out of the building. And notify the federal asset recovery division that we have located the Luxembourg trust documentation. File the civil forfeiture motion immediately.”
Two burly security guards in tailored suits stepped into the office instantly, their massive hands gripping Arthur’s arms before he could even lunge across the desk.
“Let go of me! Do you know who I am?” Arthur shrieked, flailing pathetically as they dragged him backward toward the sliding glass doors. “Eleanor! You’ll pay for this! You hear me? You’ll die alone in this glass cage!”
The glass doors slid shut, cutting off his frantic screaming.

Henrik quietly packed his laptop back into his briefcase, shaking his head slightly. “Well, that concludes the family reunion.”
“It does,” I said, turning back to look out the grand window toward the Bank of England. “File the forfeiture papers, Henrik. Let the federal government take every last penny of the Luxembourg trust. Let them experience what it truly means to have absolute zero.”
