Chapter 30 - The Eternal Vow

One year after I walked into Dominic Rossi’s bedroom and found blood soaking through Egyptian cotton sheets, the mountain estate looked entirely different. The ten-foot wrought-iron gates still stood, but the grounds inside were no longer a barren fortress of stone and clipped hedges. Vibrant gardens bloomed along the pathways, and the air smelled of lemon polish mixed with fresh jasmine.
The downtown pediatric clinic in Palermo was fully funded and operating under my direct oversight, a beacon of hope funded by a syndicate that had finally learned to protect its people rather than prey on them.
We stood together on the grand balcony of the master wing, watching the sun set over the mountains, painting the sky in brilliant shades of violet and gold.
Dominic wrapped his strong arms around my waist, pulling me tight against his chest. A simple, elegant platinum band rested on my ring finger—a permanent, unbreakable seal on a life neither of us could have predicted.
“Thinking about your old apartment?” Dominic murmured softly, his breath warm against my neck.
“Not for a single second,” I smiled, turning around in his embrace and wrapping my arms around his neck. “My rent is paid for life. The medical supplies are fully stocked. And my patient is finally healthy.”
Dominic smiled—a slow, devoted, entirely unguarded smile that belonged to me alone.
“Rule one of the Rossi estate,” he whispered, his lips meeting mine in a long, breathless kiss. “You never leave.”

“Rule two,” I whispered back against his lips. “I never lose an argument.”
“And rule three?” he asked, his dark eyes burning with absolute adoration.
