Chapter 18 - The Deal at Pier 44The black Mercedes tore down the coastal highway at over a hundred miles per hour, tires screaming against the asphalt as Marco gripped the steering wheel with white-knuckle intensity.

“Boss, this is a trap,” Marco said, glancing sideways at me through the rearview mirror. “If we go to Pier 44, we’re walking right into the Iron Crown’s kill zone.”
“I know it’s a trap, Marco,” I replied, my voice dangerously calm as I loaded a fresh magazine into my tactical rifle. “That’s why we aren't going alone.”
I looked over into the back seat.
Sophie sat quietly in the corner, still clutching her button-eyed doll. Beside her sat a secure tactical tracking case linked directly to the micro-SD card we found in Elena’s room.
The card didn't just contain Vanguard files. It contained the exact cryptographic keys to the Iron Crown’s offshore financial network in Geneva—every bank account, every shell corporation, and every politician on their payroll.
They wanted the triplets because they thought I was vulnerable.
They didn't realize I had just stolen their entire empire's lifeline.
“Pier 44 in three minutes,” Marco muttered, killing the headlights as we turned down the dark, rusted industrial dock.
Ahead of us stood the abandoned container yards of the old shipping terminal, shrouded in thick sea fog. A single industrial crane loomed overhead like a skeletal giant against the gray morning sky.
Parked in the center of the loading bay was a sleek, armored black limousine.

Standing beside it, flanked by four elite mercenaries with automatic weapons, was a tall, silver-haired man wearing an expensive tailored overcoat.
On his right hand, catching the dim morning light, was a heavy gold signet ring bearing the crest of the Iron Crown.
