Police cruisers and Coast Guard helicopters flooded the Cape Perpetua coastline within minutes, their red and blue emergency lights illuminating the dark ocean cliffs.
Julian Vance was taken into custody under heavy armed guard, facing multiple charges of attempted murder, treason, corporate espionage, and kidnapping that ensured he would spend the rest of his natural life inside a federal supermax prison.

Amy sat beside him, holding baby Clara safely in her arms. Clara was unhurt, softly cooing as she sucked on her thumb, completely unaware of the nightmare that had just transpired around her.
Margaret walked over to the ambulance doors, placing a gentle, tear-stained hand on Daniel’s knee.

Daniel reached out, covering his mother’s hand with his own. "It’s over now, Mom. The secrets are done. We’re going home."
