Chapter 4 - "PAGE 42 REVEALED A SECRET THAT BROKE THE BILLIONAIRE"

It was during a desperate search through Amy’s old studio space in the penthouse closet that Daniel found it—a leather-bound notebook tucked deep behind an easel.
It wasn't a financial ledger or a planner. It was Amy’s pregnancy journal, kept during those first four lonely months.
Daniel’s hands shook as he opened the pages.
Week 8: Spent the morning throwing up in the bathroom. Daniel was in Tokyo. I called him twice, but his secretary said he was in a board meeting. I listened to the ocean sounds on my phone so I wouldn't feel so alone.
Week 12: Saw the baby’s heartbeat today. The doctor asked where my husband was. I lied and said he was on a crucial mission for charity. I was too ashamed to say he was hosting a gala with Vanessa.
Week 15: Daniel came home at 2 AM. He smelled like expensive perfume and whiskey. He didn't even look at me before falling asleep. I lay beside him touching my belly, realizing my baby has a father who is a stranger.
Every word was a dagger thrust directly into Daniel’s chest. He hadn't just neglected her; he had slowly, systematically erased her existence while she suffered in silence.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed on the floor. It was Marcus.
"Sir," Marcus’s voice was urgent. "We got a hit. A small medical clinic in coastal Oregon just requested a copy of Mrs. Harrison’s original bloodwork records from her Manhattan obstetrician. They used her private medical ID."
Daniel stood up instantly, the journal clutched tightly against his chest. "Where?"

"Newport, Oregon. A small community clinic on the harbor."
"Get the private jet prepped," Daniel commanded, his voice raw, dangerous, and filled with a frantic desperation. "I don't care about the weather. I don't care about the FAA clearances. We leave in twenty minutes."
