CHAPTER 5 – “The Riot Was Never the Plan
 It Was the Signal”

The chant echoed through every corridor.

“BLACKWELL! BLACKWELL! BLACKWELL!”

The Warden’s smile disappeared.

He slammed his fist onto the balcony railing.

“Shoot anyone who refuses to kneel!”

Guards raised their rifles.

Prisoners froze.

Then...

Bang!

A warning shot exploded into the ceiling.

Concrete dust rained over the arena.

Panic erupted.

Hundreds of inmates rushed in every direction while alarms screamed throughout the prison.

But in the middle of the chaos...

The Kid stood perfectly still.

Titan stared at him in disbelief.

“You planned this?”

The Kid nodded.

“No.”

“I predicted it.”

Before Titan could answer, the Kid pulled a tiny metal object from inside his torn boot.

It wasn't a weapon.

It was an old prison badge.

Titan's eyes widened.

“That badge belongs to...”

“My father.”

The Kid's voice became cold.

“He wasn't a criminal.”

“He was the prison's lead investigator.”

“He came here to expose Blackwell's trafficking operation.”

Titan felt his legs weaken.

“He never disappeared...”

“He was murdered.”

The words hit Titan like another punch.

“I tried to stop them,” Titan whispered.

“They threatened my wife... my son...”

The Kid looked at him for several silent seconds.

Then he asked the one question Titan feared most.

“Are they still alive?”

Titan lowered his head.

“No.”

For years, Titan believed he had survived by obeying Blackwell.

Now he realized...

He had lost everything anyway.

Slowly...

The giant stood beside the Kid.

May you like

Not as an enemy.

But as an ally.
