CHAPTER 8 — “The Third Son”

"The third... what?"

Ethan could barely breathe.

The old woman nodded slowly.

"When your mother gave birth..."

"There weren't two babies."

"There were three."

Silence.

Even the prisoners fighting outside seemed to disappear beneath the weight of those words.

"The third infant vanished before sunrise," she continued.

"I spent twenty-five years searching for him."

The warden smiled again.

"You'll never find him."

"Because he doesn't even know who he is."

Suddenly...

A sniper's bullet shattered the prison window.

The round flew past Ethan's head...

And struck the warden squarely in the shoulder.

He collapsed screaming.

Everyone turned toward the rooftop.

A lone figure stood against the burning sky.

Black tactical armor.

A long sniper rifle.

A white wolf insignia on the chest.

The stranger removed his mask.

Ethan's eyes widened.

Subject Zero stopped breathing.

The face staring back at them...

Was theirs.

Identical.

Not similar.

Identical.

The sniper spoke through a loudspeaker.

"My name isn't Ethan."

"It isn't Subject Zero."

"I've spent twenty-five years hunting the man who stole my family."

He slowly aimed the rifle again.

"But before I kill him..."

He looked directly at Ethan.

"I need to know something."

"Brother..."

"...which side are you on?"

The prison erupted into explosions as helicopters thundered overhead.

The three brothers locked eyes for the very first time.

And none of them realized...

The real mastermind had never been the warden.

Far away, inside a luxury penthouse overlooking the city, a mysterious woman watched the prison burn through a wall of security monitors.

She smiled.

"Phase One is complete."

Then she pressed a single red button.

On the screen appeared three classified names:

  • Project Alpha — Ethan Carter

  • Project Omega — Subject Zero

  • Project Genesis — The Third Son

Beneath them flashed one chilling message:

May you like

"Only one of them was created to survive."

The End... Or Is It?
