🔥 CHAPTER 8: "THE BROTHER'S FINAL GAMBLE"

Sofia quietly stepped forward.
Anthony immediately aimed a pistol at her.
"Stop."
She raised both hands.
"Relax."
"You've already won."
Anthony smirked.
"Now you're finally being realistic."
She slowly held up a black briefcase.
"The files."
Daniel looked shocked.
"What are you doing?"
Without looking at him, Sofia whispered,
"Trust me."
Anthony's eyes locked onto the briefcase.
"Slide it over."
She did.
The heavy case slowly glided across the dusty concrete floor.
Anthony laughed triumphantly.
"I knew you'd make the logical choice."
One of his men picked it up and handed it to him.
Anthony eagerly opened the locks.
Click.
Click.
The lid lifted.
Inside...
Nothing.
Only stacks of blank printer paper.
Anthony's smile disappeared.
"What is this?"
Sofia folded her arms.
"A distraction."
At that exact second...
Emily suddenly threw herself sideways with the chair.
The ropes binding her wrists snapped apart.
Everyone stared in disbelief.
She had secretly been cutting through them for nearly an hour using the tiny metal clasp from her bracelet.
Before Anthony could react—
Emily kicked one of the fake explosive devices beside her.
It rolled across the floor.
The plastic casing cracked open.
Instead of explosives...
Hundreds of metal washers spilled everywhere.
The bomb squad officer shouted,
"They're fake!"
Instant chaos erupted.
Anthony screamed,
"Kill them!"
Gunfire echoed through the warehouse.
Police officers returned fire while rushing Emily to safety.
Anthony tried to run toward a rear staircase.
But Sofia was already waiting.
He swung a metal pipe at her.
She ducked.
The pipe smashed into a concrete pillar.
Anthony charged again.
This time Sofia caught his wrist, twisted sharply, and forced the weapon from his hand.
He threw a desperate punch.
She blocked it.
Another punch.
Blocked again.
Then...
With one precise movement...
She flipped him over her shoulder.
Anthony slammed onto the concrete floor so hard the air rushed from his lungs.
Handcuffs clicked around his wrists seconds later.
"It's over," Sofia said calmly.
Anthony laughed despite the pain.
"You still don't understand."
Sofia frowned.
"What?"
He smiled through bloodied lips.
"I was never the leader."
The warehouse suddenly fell silent.
Daniel stared at his brother.
"What are you talking about?"
Anthony looked directly at Sofia.
"You've been chasing the wrong target from the very beginning."
He nodded toward Daniel.
"Ask your board of directors..."
"...which one of them never attended a single meeting in person."
Sofia's expression changed instantly.
One name flashed through her mind.
A silent investor.
A mysterious shareholder.
Someone who owned nearly fifteen percent of Harrison Global...
Yet almost nobody had ever met him.
Anthony whispered one final sentence before police dragged him away.
"He's already left the country."
Sofia stood frozen.
Daniel looked at her.
"Who?"
She answered quietly.
"The real mastermind."
"And if we don't catch him..."
"Everything that happened here..."
May you like
"...was only the beginning."
