Chapter 10 - The Dawn After the StormThe morning sun broke through the tall glass windows of the grand living room, casting a warm, golden glow over the Persian rugs.

The house no longer felt empty.
The chandelier still hung over the entryway, the piano still sat in the hall, and the luxury cars still filled the garage. But the echoes of grief and isolation were gone, replaced by something entirely new.
Thomas sat on the living room rug, wearing a ridiculous green dinosaur mask tied around his head with a mop handle. He growled playfully, stomping his hands on the floor.
Lucas was laughing so hard he rolled across the rug, clutching his stomach as tears of pure joy ran down his cheeks.
Clara stood leaning against the doorway, a steaming mug of coffee in her hand, watching them with a soft, glowing smile.
Thomas pulled off the mask, catching his breath, and looked up at Clara. He stood up slowly and walked over to her, his expression deeply humbled and sincere.
"You know," Thomas said softly, "you're still technically my employee. Your contract says you're supposed to clean the house."
Clara raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of her coffee. "Is that so, Mr. Caldwell? Want to fire me?"
Thomas smiled—a genuine, radiant smile that hadn't graced his face in years. He reached out and gently took the coffee mug from her hand, setting it down on the side table, before wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close, while Lucas immediately scrambled up to hug them both.

"No," Thomas whispered against her hair, finally feeling like he was home. "I think I'd rather give you a permanent contract. For life."
What do you think will happen next in Thomas and Clara's new life together?
