Within twenty minutes, he had retreated to his private study, sealing the heavy soundproof doors behind him. He plugged the matte-black flash drive into an isolated, air-gapped terminal completely disconnected from Marrow Holdings' network.

The screen flickered, flashing a command line interface before a single folder materialized: Marrow_Legacy_Contingency.enc

Tobias typed his personal master cryptographic key.

A series of documents, audio files, and financial ledgers unspooled across the monitor. The more he read, the colder his blood became.

It wasn't a threat from the remnants of the Vance family. It was something far worse.

The files detailed a shadow corporate entity—named Aegis Holdings—that had quietly accumulated fractional shares of Marrow Holdings’ core infrastructure over the past decade. Not through hostile buyouts, but through backdoor shell arrangements signed years ago, long before Tobias even met Elena.

Worse still, a secondary document revealed a medical file bearing Julian and Leo's names, stamped with a private genetic testing facility registry dated three weeks before Elena had walked into his office.

The door clicked open. Elena stepped inside, holding a cup of fresh coffee, her expression shifting instantly when she saw the stark, grim look on his face.

"Tobias? What is it? You've been locked in here for an hour."

Tobias slowly turned the monitor toward her. "Look at this, Elena."

Elena stepped closer, her green eyes scanning the screen. When her gaze landed on the Aegis Holdings registry and the genetic file timestamps, the color drained entirely from her face.
