Chapter 18 - The Unwritten PageThat evening, after the boys were finally tucked into bed, the penthouse grew wonderfully quiet.

Tobias sat at his mahogany desk, though the legal briefs and financial reports were gone, replaced by a simple leather-bound journal. For the first time in his life, he wasn't writing a corporate strategy or a merger projection.

He was writing a letter.

To my sons, the ink read neatly across the page. By the time you read this, you will understand that life cannot be scheduled, calculated, or controlled. The best things in this world are the ones that arrive unexpectedly—like a double stroller at 3:15 PM.

The study door opened quietly, and Elena stepped in, wearing a soft silk robe, holding two glasses of aged scotch. She walked over, setting one glass on the desk before peering over his shoulder at the journal.

"Writing your memoirs?" she teased gently.

"Just documenting the most important acquisition of my life," Tobias said, closing the journal and looking up at her.

Elena sat down on the edge of the desk, swirling her glass thoughtfully. "Do you ever look back at the three years we spent apart and wish we had done things differently?"

Tobias reached out, pulling her between his knees, resting his hands on her waist.

"If we hadn't broken apart, Elena, we never would have learned how to truly fit together," Tobias answered honestly. "Every second of pain, every mistake, every wall we built—it all led to this exact room, this exact moment."

Elena smiled, setting her glass aside and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Then I suppose we shouldn't change a single thing."
