CHAP 11: THE BLOODLINES OF POWER

đ„ THE TRUTH BEHIND THE TWINS' BLOOD WILL LEAVE YOU BREATHLESS!
A deafening gunshot echoed through the trees, but it didn't come from Marcusâs weapon, nor did it come from the mercenaries. The lead mercenary's helmet shattered as a high-powered rifle round took him down from over five hundred yards away!
Chaos erupted. Muzzle flashes lit up the dark forest as an unseen third party began picking off the armed mercenaries one by one. Marcus took advantage of the distraction, pulling Julia and the children into the SUV, slamming the vehicle into reverse, and flooring the accelerator through the wooden perimeter fence.
They sped down the winding mountain roads, the engine roaring in protest. In the backseat, Julia held Leo and Liam tightly against her chest, both toddlers trembling as they buried their faces into her jacket.
"Who rescued us, Marcus?!" Julia cried, looking out the shattered rear window.
"I don't know," Marcus said, his hands tight on the steering wheel. "But whoever they are, they have military-grade sniper assets. We can't trust anyone in local or federal law enforcement anymore. The corruption goes far beyond Police Chief Miller."
Marcus navigated the vehicle into an abandoned subterranean train tunnel on the outskirts of the cityâa forgotten relic from the industrial era that wasn't marked on modern GPS maps. He killed the engine and flipped off the lights, plunging them into utter darkness save for the dim glow of his dashboard.
"Julia," Marcus said softly, turning around in his seat. "We need to talk about Arthur. And we need to talk about your family lineage."
Julia wiped a tear from her cheek. "What are you saying?"
"Ravenhill wasn't just harvesting stem cells to cure wealthy men like Arthur," Marcus revealed, pulling up a digital dossier on his encrypted tablet. "I spent all night analyzing the genetic sequencings recovered from Thorne's lab. Leo and Liam aren't just normal children. Their blood contains a rare genetic mutationâa complete immunity to cellular degradation."
Julia stared at him in disbelief. "What does that mean?"
"It means their blood holds the key to slowing down human aging and curing terminal genetic diseases," Marcus said grimly. "Thorne didn't invent this process. He was hired by a syndicate known as 'The Apex Board'âa coalition of international billionaires, politicians, and media moguls. Arthur didn't pay ten million dollars to save himself, Julia. He sold your sons to pay off a massive debt he owed to the Board!"

Juliaâs jaw dropped in absolute horror. "He... he sold his own blood?"
Before Marcus could answer, a shadow appeared right outside the driver-side window. A soft knock tapped against the glass.
