Chapter 1 - THE REVELATION THAT SHATTERED THE ROOM

The silence in the grand banquet hall of the Harrison Estate was so absolute you could hear the soft hum of the crystal chandeliers hanging high above.
Mr. Harrison stood frozen, his eyes glued to the massive LED screen that was supposed to showcase the family’s corporate achievements. Instead, it showed a grainy, high-definition angle of the upstairs hallway recorded just twenty minutes before the party started.
On the screen, Vanessa—wearing her bespoke emerald silk gown—stepped out of the master bedroom. She looked frantically left and right before slipping a diamond-encrusted pendant out of her clutch, throwing it brutally onto the floor outside Emily’s guest room, and deliberately stomping on the delicate chain to make it look like it had been dropped in a hurry.
The Blonde Guest gasped, covering her mouth in genuine horror. "She... she planted it! Vanessa did it herself!"
The room erupted into a chaos of whispers. Dozens of high-society guests, who just moments prior were screaming for Emily’s purse to be searched, now drew back from Vanessa as if she were carrying a contagious disease.
Emily didn’t scream. She didn't cry. She stood in the center of the hall, her posture perfectly straight, her eyes dark and hollow.
"Vanessa..." Mr. Harrison’s voice trembled with a mixture of rage and profound embarrassment. He took a heavy step toward his daughter. "Tell me this isn't true. Tell me my daughter didn't just stage a robbery to frame an innocent girl."
Vanessa’s face went completely pale. The arrogant smile she had worn all evening evaporated, replaced by a cold, desperate panic. "Dad, listen to me! That footage—it’s fake! She manipulated it! Emily is a tech designer, she knows how to alter digital files!"
"I didn't alter anything, Vanessa," Emily said softly, her voice carrying across the silent room like a blade cutting through silk. "You humiliated me in front of everyone tonight because you were terrified your secret would come out. But the video doesn't end there."
Emily reached into her pocket and pressed a single button on a small, unbranded remote control.
"The next part changes everything," Emily whispered.
The video on the screen didn't cut to black. Instead, the timestamp leaped forward by three minutes. The camera captured Vanessa opening her clutch again. She pulled out a small, amber glass vial and handed it to Mr. Harrison’s personal butler, Arthur—the very man who had poured Mr. Harrison’s champagne just ten minutes ago.
The entire crowd gasped in unison. Mr. Harrison looked down at the half-empty crystal glass in his hand, his face draining of all color.
"What... what is that?" Mr. Harrison choked out, dropping his glass to the marble floor where it shattered into a thousand pieces.

"It’s arsenic, Mr. Harrison," Emily said calmly. "Vanessa didn't frame me to save her reputation. She framed me so that when you collapsed tonight, the police would find the poison in my bag while looking for your wife's stolen necklace."
The room went dead silent once more. Vanessa screamed—a shrill, manic sound of pure desperation—and bolted for the grand exit doors.
