Chapter 11 - THE TRAITOR UNMASKEDThe heavy iron door at the far end of the warehouse creaked open, letting in a blinding shaft of headlights from an idling SUV parked outside.

Two masked figures slipped into the warehouse, their tactical flashlights slicing through the drifting dust and smoke. They didn't search the aisles at random; they moved with chilling precision straight toward Container 804, their rifle barrels raised and ready.
"Clear the target," a harsh, disguised voice hissed from behind a black balaclava. "If Viktor gave up the name, clean sweep the area. Leave no trace."
Aleandro stood motionless in the shadows, his breathing slow and controlled. Beside him, Viktor was whimpering, tears cutting tracks through the grime on his face.
As the first assassin stepped past the corner of the container, Aleandro didn't use his gun. With explosive, silent speed, he lashed out with his boot, kicking the assassin’s knee inward with a sickening crunch. The man dropped his rifle with a cry, and before the second assassin could pivot, Aleandro brought the butt of his pistol down hard across the man’s temple, sending him crashing unconscious to the concrete.
The first assassin groaned, clutching his shattered knee on the ground.
Aleandro stepped over him, pressing the cold barrel of his gun directly against the man’s forehead. "Who sent you? Give me a name before I blow your skull across this concrete."
The assassin let out a wet, painful laugh, blood bubbling past his lips. "You... you think you caught the rat, Don Moretti? Look closer at your own ledgers... the leak isn't dead. It's sitting at your right hand."
Before Aleandro could demand an explanation, a sudden, blinding flash of light erupted from the warehouse entrance.
A heavy armored transport truck smashed right through the corrugated steel wall of the warehouse, its twin headlights blindingly bright, pinning Aleandro in the glare.

Standing on the running board of the crashing truck, holding an assault rifle with an ice-cold grin, was a man Aleandro trusted more than his own reflection: Marcus, his chief financial officer and second-in-command for ten years.
"Surprise, boss," Marcus shouted over the roaring engine. "Some empires are just built to be overthrown."
