Chapter 5 - The Boardroom Execution

The emergency executive board meeting of Sterling Global Technologies was called at 6:00 AM sharp. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows of the fifty-fifth-floor penthouse boardroom, illuminating the polished mahogany conference table where twelve senior board directors sat in tense, anxious silence.
The atmosphere was electric. Rumors had already begun circulating through the financial markets that Juliette Sterling, the newly appointed executive vice president of philanthropic outreach, had been arrested under charges of attempted homicide and international fraud.
The heavy double doors swung open, and Christopher Sterling stepped into the room. He wore a crisp navy suit, his posture impeccably straight, his expression an unreadable mask of absolute authority. Behind him walked two federal marshals escorting a digital projection technician.
Christopher did not sit at the head of the table immediately. He walked to the center of the room, resting his palms flat on the glass surface of the smart-table.
"Good morning, directors," Christopher said, his voice carrying effortlessly across the massive room. "I apologize for the ungodly hour, but an existential threat to our corporation’s integrity has been neutralized, and restructuring must begin immediately."
Arthur Pendelton, the senior board chairman and a longtime ally of Juliette’s faction, cleared his throat nervously. "Christopher, we’ve heard disturbing rumors regarding your wife. The media is having a field day. How will this impact our upcoming merger with the Tokyo conglomerate?"
Christopher turned his head slowly, locking his piercing gaze onto Arthur. "It won't impact the merger at all, Arthur. In fact, it will accelerate it. Because as of five minutes ago, Juliette’s voting shares in this company have been legally nullified."
"Nullified?" Arthur stammered, rising halfway out of his leather chair. "On what legal grounds? Her marital stake is protected under—"
"Under federal statute 14-B," Christopher interrupted coldly, pressing a button on his remote console. "Which dictates that any individual convicted or credibly implicated in an attempted murder plot against a primary blood heir to the company forfeits all matrimonial property rights and corporate assets."
The projection screen behind Christopher flickered to life. Instead of corporate balance sheets, the high-definition display illuminated a series of financial wire transfers routed directly from Juliette’s personal offshore accounts to Arthur Pendelton’s private Swiss numbered accounts.
The room gasped in unison. Arthur’s face turned the color of spoiled milk, his knees buckling as he collapsed back into his chair, sweating profusely.
"You took bribes from my wife to help her manipulate the board votes, Arthur," Christopher stated calmly, walking toward the trembling chairman. "You helped her position herself to liquidate our R&D division behind my back. And worse, you looked the other way while she systematically abused my daughter."
Arthur opened his mouth, trying to sputter a defense, but no words came out. The federal marshals stepped forward instantly, heavy steel cuffs clicking onto Arthur’s wrists before he could even reach for his briefcase.

"Take him out of my sight," Christopher commanded softly.
As Arthur was dragged kicking and screaming from the boardroom, the remaining directors sat in stunned, terrified silence. No one dared to breathe, let alone question the master strategist standing before them. Christopher had just decapitated the opposition in a single, flawless morning strike.
