Chapter 5 – The Assassin Inside the Hospital

The hallway erupted into chaos.

The man in the dark suit calmly walked away just as the hospital's emergency backup lights flickered on.

"Stop him!" Ethan shouted.

Security guards sprinted after the stranger.

By the time they reached the elevator...

He was gone.

No security footage.

No fingerprints.

No visitor record.

It was as if he had never existed.

Back in Room 309, Thomas grabbed Ethan's arm with surprising strength.

"Listen carefully," he whispered.

"Victor owns people everywhere... judges, police officers... even hospitals."

Ethan wanted answers.

Instead, Thomas handed him a small brass key hidden beneath his hospital blanket.

"I swallowed it before they arrested me thirty years ago. They never found it."

"What does it open?"

Thomas looked toward the ceiling, as if remembering a nightmare.

"Locker 217... at Union Station."

Before Ethan could ask another question...

The ICU doors burst open.

A woman in an expensive black suit rushed inside.

She looked no older than thirty-five.

Elegant.

Terrified.

The moment she saw Thomas, she dropped to her knees.

"Dad..."

Ethan froze.

Thomas had another child.

The woman turned toward Ethan, tears streaming down her face.

"You don't know me..."

"My name is Charlotte Hale."

"I'm your sister."

The room fell silent.

But before anyone could speak again...

A nurse suddenly collapsed to the floor.

Foaming at the mouth.

Someone had poisoned her.

And on the medication tray beside her...

Was a syringe labeled with Thomas Hale's name.

Someone wasn't trying to kill Thomas anymore.

They were trying to frame Ethan.
