The flash drive contained thousands of classified files.
Bank records.
Secret payments.
Murder contracts.
Bribed judges.
Corrupt senators.
And one encrypted folder simply labeled:
PROJECT LEGACY.
When Ethan finally unlocked it, his blood ran cold.
Victor Hale wasn't fighting for an inheritance anymore.
He was preparing to become one of the most powerful political leaders in the country.
Every murder...
Every betrayal...
Every disappearance over the last thirty years...
Had been carefully planned to erase anyone who could expose him before the election.
Then Ethan found the final file.
A DNA report.
He stared at it for several seconds, unable to believe what he was reading.
Thomas Hale...
Was not his biological father.
Neither was the man listed on his fake birth certificate.
Someone else was.
The report identified only one name.
President Alexander Monroe.
Before Ethan could process the impossible truth, every screen in the abandoned warehouse suddenly turned on at once.
Victor appeared live on every monitor.
He smiled calmly into the camera.
"Hello, Ethan."
"I've been waiting for you to discover who you really are."
Then he slowly held up another photograph.
It showed a frightened little girl tied to a chair.
About eight years old.
Wearing the exact same wooden necklace Ethan had worn as a child.
Victor smiled even wider.
"You've spent your whole life searching for your past."
"Now it's time to meet your daughter."
