CHAPTER 4 – The Kidnapping That Exposed a Family Monster
Daniel didn't sleep that night.
The anonymous text replayed in his mind over and over.
"Tomorrow, the little girl disappears."
At dawn, he ordered private security to watch Ethan and his daughter, Lily, around the clock.
But someone had already planned ten steps ahead.
At exactly 3:15 p.m., Lily walked out of school holding her teacher's hand.
A woman in a navy business suit approached with a warm smile.
"I'm here from your dad's company," she said gently. "Your father was hurt at work again. Mr. Harper sent me to bring you to the hospital."
Lily hesitated.
The woman showed her an employee badge with Harper Construction's logo.
It looked real.
The teacher nodded.
Seconds later...
A black SUV disappeared around the corner.
Five minutes later, the real security team arrived.
Lily was gone.
Daniel received the call while speaking to the police.
"Ethan's daughter has been kidnapped."
For the first time in years...
The billionaire completely lost his composure.
Meanwhile, inside an abandoned warehouse, Lily sat quietly with her hands tied.
She wasn't crying.
She wasn't screaming.
She simply stared at the masked man standing in front of her.
"Are you going to hurt my daddy?" she asked softly.
The man laughed.
"No."
"I'm going to make him watch you disappear."
Before he could say another word, Lily noticed something unusual.
A silver wolf-shaped ring.
She had seen it before.
Not on a stranger.
On the hand of the smiling man who had once shaken Daniel's hand during a company charity event.
Back at Harper Construction, Daniel reviewed hundreds of employee records.
Then Ethan suddenly froze.
"I remember that ring."
Daniel looked up.
"You know who it belongs to?"
Ethan nodded slowly.
His face turned white.
"It's not Marcus..."
"It's someone even closer to you."
Daniel's heartbeat stopped.
"Who?"
Ethan swallowed hard.
"The woman who has managed your finances for the last fifteen years..."
"...your trusted Chief Financial Officer."
Daniel couldn't believe it.
The person who had controlled every company account...
The woman who attended every family holiday...
The woman he had called 'Aunt Victoria' since he was a child...
Had secretly been working with Marcus all along.
Then Daniel's phone rang.
A video appeared.
Lily looked directly into the camera.
She wasn't crying.
She smiled.
Then she whispered just six words that changed everything.
"Don't trust the person beside you."
The screen suddenly went black.
Daniel slowly turned around.
Every executive in the conference room was staring at him.
