Chapter 6 - The Bloodline Alliance

VIRAL HOOK: "The ultimate betrayal unveiled: Her husband wasn't an FBI agent... He was her half-brother?!"
Sarah’s breath caught in her throat. The world spun out of control.
"What... what did you just say?" Sarah stammered, staring at Evelyn in sheer horror.
Evelyn laughed, a chilling, shrill sound over the heavy thrum of the helicopter blades. "Oh, you sweet, naive little idiot. Arthur’s secret first marriage? The son he abandoned twenty-eight years ago? Daniel isn't an FBI hero, Sarah. He’s Arthur’s flesh and blood. The ultimate Trojan horse sent to make you fall in love, marry him, and give Arthur absolute legal control of the trust through a blood heir!"
"No..." Sarah sobbed, shaking her head violently. "No! That's a lie! He fought for me! He bled for me!"
"He bled for four billion dollars!" Evelyn spat, thrusting a tablet into Sarah's face.
On the screen was a birth certificate. Daniel Arthur Sterling. Mother: Mary Vance. Father: Arthur Sterling.
Sarah felt like she had stepped into a nightmare with no bottom. Every single memory—their wedding, the birth of Lily, his soft smiles, his promises of protection—was built on a foundation of horrific, calculated deceit.
Meanwhile, down on the rain-slicked highway, Daniel rammed his tactical SUV through the security gates of Sterling Tower.
The massive skyscraper towered eighty stories into the stormy night sky. The building was on total lockdown, illuminated only by emergency red lights.
Daniel slammed a fresh magazine into his sidearm, pulled two tactical knives from his vest, and charged through the shattered glass doors of the lobby.
The lobby was an ambush zone. Eight heavily armed mercenaries opened fire from behind marble pillars. Daniel ducked into a roll, coming up behind a pillar, firing with surgical precision. Tap, tap, tap. Three guards dropped instantly. He grabbed a fallen assault rifle, tossed a smoke grenade into the center of the room, and moved through the smog like a ghost, eliminating the remaining threat in under forty seconds.
He reached the high-speed express elevator, smashed the control panel, and inserted a security override key.
The elevator shot upward toward the 80th floor penthouse.
Inside the elevator cab, Daniel looked at his reflection in the mirrored wall. He pulled out a worn photograph tucked behind his tactical vest—a picture of Sarah laughing at a beach three years ago, holding Lily on her shoulders.
Tears welled up in his bloodshot eyes.
He pulled out his radio. "Agent Vance, do you read me?"
"Daniel! I'm five minutes behind you with SWAT! Don't go to the 80th floor! It's a setup!"
"Listen to me, Sis," Daniel said, his voice breaking with deep sorrow. "If I don't make it out of this building... tell Sarah... tell her that whatever started as a lie... became the only truth I ever cared about."

He smashed the radio, cut the elevator cable, and jumped through the ceiling hatch just as the elevator arrived at the penthouse suite.
Chapter 6 Cliffhanger: The elevator doors slid open to reveal Arthur and Evelyn waiting with heavy shotguns. They blasted the empty elevator cab to pieces—unaware that Daniel was hanging from the ceiling right above them, holding a live grenade.
