Chapter 9 - THE ZURICH PROTOCOL

A BILLION-DOLLAR LIQUIDATION IN 60 SECONDS! THE CLOCK IS TICKING! ⏳💥"Get out of my chair, Arthur," I said, my voice echoing with pure steel as I walked to the opposite end of the massive mahogany table.

The board members looked uneasy, whispering among themselves as they saw the federal agents flanking me.

"Your chair?" Arthur chuckled, leaning back. "Elena, dear, check your phone. The medical report from Saint Jude’s was logged into the trust’s network twenty minutes ago. You suffered a severe cardiac event induced by psychological trauma. Under Section 4 of the bylaws, you are temporarily declared non-compos mentis. Your voting rights are legally dead."

"The medical report was falsified during an attempted assassination by an Obsidian Group operative," Agent Vance announced, stepping forward and slamming his badge onto the table. "This meeting is unauthorized."

"Unauthorized by whom?" Arthur countered, signaling his corporate legal team. A lawyer handed me a printout of the Zurich transmission. "The secondary trustee has already authorized the proxy transfer. The Obsidian Group has already wired the first installment of three billion dollars into the trust's offshore accounts. The deal is done, Elena. The northern coast belongs to them. Construction crews break ground at midnight."

I looked at the digital display on the boardroom wall. A countdown timer showed the final authorization sequence for the wire transfer.

00:59... 00:58... 00:57...

"You think you won because you manipulated a computer file, Arthur?" I asked, a slow, dangerous smile spreading across my face despite the pain in my ribs. "You forgot one crucial detail about how Grandfather built this network. He didn't trust digital systems. He never did."

I walked over to the main terminal at the front of the room. I didn't swipe my badge. Instead, I pressed my thumb against the biometric reader beneath the console—the reader that required the unique genetic profile of a direct lineal descendant.

"What are you doing?" Arthur demanded, his smile faltering as the terminal hummed to life, flashing a bright violet light.

"Activating the Zurich Protocol," I said clearly. "Grandfather knew that one day, someone from the outside—or the inside—would try to steal the family fortune through proxy manipulation. The Zurich Protocol doesn't freeze the assets. It permanently deletes the trust's banking licenses worldwide if a proxy transfer is executed while a direct bloodline heir claims active distress."

The countdown timer abruptly stopped at 00:03.

The screens flickered wildly before turning a violent shade of crimson.

TRUST HOLDINGS: LIQUIDATED. BANKING INTERMEDIARY: TERMINATED.

"You crazy bitch!" Arthur shrieked, slamming his fists on the table as the lawyers began panicking, their phones blowing up with alerts from European banks. "You just destroyed three billion dollars!"

"I didn't destroy it," I said, looking him dead in the eye. "I sent it to the federal recovery asset fund. You’re broke, Arthur. And the Obsidian Group is going to want their land back."
