Chapter 10 - THE LAST RESORT

THE REAL OWNER WALKS IN—AND THE ENDING WILL LEAVE YOU BREATHLESS! 🌊👑The fallout was instantaneous. Within hours, Arthur Somor and his entire legal team were led out of the building in handcuffs, facing international money laundering and treason charges. The Somor Trust Group was effectively dead, its corporate carcass picked clean by federal regulators.
But the northern coast—the pristine, ancient cliffs that my mother had died to protect—was saved. The deeds had been permanently transferred into a public ecological sanctuary, beyond the reach of any corporation or corrupt family member.
Three days later, I stood on the highest peak of the northern cliffs, watching the waves crash against the rocks far below. The wind was fierce, carrying the scent of rain and sea salt. My injuries were healing, but the scars would remain forever—a permanent reminder of the price of survival.
A sleek, black helicopter touched down on the grass behind me. I didn't turn around as the rotors slowed to a halt and a single set of footsteps approached.
"You played a dangerous game, Elena," a familiar, low voice said over the wind.
I turned slowly. It wasn't Arthur. It wasn't the federal agents.
It was the driver who had forced my car off the cliff a week ago—the assassin from the video. He wasn't wearing his tactical gear anymore. He was dressed in a high-end corporate suit, carrying a small, metallic briefcase.
"Are you here to finish the job?" I asked quietly, my hand resting near the hidden tracking beacon Agent Vance had given me.
The driver smiled, a respectful, professional gesture. "The job was already finished, Ms. Somor. You still don't see the whole picture, do you?"
He stepped forward and opened the briefcase, revealing a single, pristine documents packet bearing the seal of the International Maritime Court.
"Your mother didn't partner with the Obsidian Group to sell the land," the driver explained, his voice completely calm. "She founded the Obsidian Group ten years ago under a shell corporation. She used Daniel’s greed and Arthur’s ambition to expose the corrupt elements within the Somor Trust, allowing the federal government to wipe out the old board without touching her global assets."
My breath hitched in my throat. The puzzle pieces shifted violently in my mind. "The car crash... the attempt on my life..."
"A calculated performance to ensure the federal wiretap caught Daniel giving the order," the driver said, handing me the documents. "Your car was equipped with a military-grade roll cage and automatic ejection protocols. You were never in danger of dying, Elena. Your mother knew you would survive. She needed you to be the victim so you could inherit the clean, unburdened empire."
I looked down at the documents. The ultimate owner of the Obsidian Group wasn't Eleanor Somor anymore.
The name printed on the majority share certificate was ELENA MARIE SOMOR.
"Where is she?" I asked, my voice trembling with a mixture of awe and fury.
The driver turned back toward the helicopter. "She’s exactly where she needs to be. In the shadows, watching her daughter run the world."
He climbed into the helicopter, and within moments, the aircraft lifted off, disappearing into the gray morning mist, leaving me alone on the cliffside.

I looked out over the vast, endless ocean, holding the keys to a global empire built on blood, lies, and absolute brilliance. The Somor family name was dead.
But my reign had just begun.
