Lewis looked around the room.
"My client instructed me to reveal this only if his son survived betrayal."
He turned toward Clara.
"The maid."
Everyone laughed.
Until Lewis continued.
"Please step forward..."
"...Miss Clara Whitmore."
Vanessa frowned.
"Whitmore?"
Lewis nodded.
"The founder's granddaughter."
The ballroom exploded.
Clara lowered her eyes.
"I never wanted anyone to know."
Years earlier...
She had changed her surname after kidnappers targeted the family.
She chose to work anonymously.
She wanted to understand whether people respected kindness...
Or only wealth.
She met me years before the accident.
She had watched Vanessa manipulate me from the beginning.

Transferred into Clara's trust.

Vanessa screamed.
