CHAPTER 8 – The Sister Who Had Been Watching From the Shadows

Clara and Sophia drove through the rain to a small coastal town.

No luxury cars.

No security guards.

No private jets.

Only a tiny flower shop standing beside an old church.

A woman was arranging roses near the front window.

Simple clothes.

No jewelry.

A peaceful smile.

Sophia whispered,

"Her name is Emma."

The woman looked up.

The moment her eyes met Clara's...

Both women froze.

They looked almost identical.

The same eyes.

The same smile Henry had.

Emma slowly walked outside.

"I knew this day would come."

Clara couldn't speak.

"You... knew about me?"

Emma nodded.

"Father visited me every birthday."

"He begged me to stay away from the Whitmore name."

"He said one daughter needed to inherit the empire..."

"...and the other needed to inherit a peaceful life."

Tears streamed down Clara's face.

"But why didn't you ever come?"

Emma smiled gently.

"Because someone had to protect the only thing money could never buy."

She looked toward the little boy playing with flowers.

"My son."

"I wanted him to grow up knowing love... not wealth."

Just then...

A black SUV suddenly stopped outside the flower shop.

Three men stepped out.

One of them held legal documents.

The leader smiled coldly.

"So..."

"We finally found both Whitmore daughters."

Clara instinctively stepped in front of Emma and the little boy.

"What do you want?"

The man opened a thin folder.

"You inherited Henry Whitmore's fortune."

"But someone else inherited Henry Whitmore's enemies."

He slid one photograph across the hood of the SUV.

Clara's blood ran cold.

The picture showed Henry...

Standing beside a man whose face had been scratched out with a knife.

Across the back, someone had written in red ink:

"Your father stole my life. Now I'll take his daughters."

As thunder exploded overhead, the stranger smiled.

"This isn't about money anymore."

May you like

"It's about revenge."

👉 Continue in Chapters 9 & 10... where a decades-old betrayal is finally exposed, and Clara discovers Henry's greatest secret was never hidden in the vault—it was hidden in his past.
