Chapter 6 - The Iron Terms Adrian didn't flinch under the older man's harsh gaze. He knew he deserved every bit of scorn Arthur was throwing his way.

"Do whatever you have to do legally," Adrian said quietly, his shoulders slumped in total defeat. "Take the house. Take whatever assets are left. Just... make sure Clara is protected. Make sure she doesn't suffer because of my mistakes."
Arthur stared at him for a long, silent moment, searching Adrian's face for any sign of pride or deflection. Finding only genuine, shattered despair, the old tycoon let out a long, heavy sigh and motioned to his lead attorney.
"Place the contract on the table," Arthur commanded.
The attorney stepped forward, sliding a thick legal document across the mahogany surface toward Adrian.
Adrian looked down at the title page, frowning in confusion. It wasn't a divorce settlement or a bankruptcy filing. It was a corporate acquisition agreement, combined with a family trust restructuring.
"What is this?" Adrian asked, looking up.
"It's a lifeline," Arthur said flatly, pulling out a chair and sitting down uninvited. "My holding firm will buy out Vanessa's frozen shares, clear your corporate debts in full, and inject the necessary five million in liquidity to keep Vance Industries afloat. In exchange, two conditions must be met."
Adrian's heart skipped a beat. "Name them."
"First, Vanessa's shares are entirely forfeited and wiped out with zero payout. She gets nothing from this company, ever again," Arthur stated, raising a single finger. "Second... Clara files for sole legal custody of Emma, and you sign over full operational control of your personal estate to a neutral third-party trust managed by my firm. You will have visitation rights with the children, strictly monitored by Clara's approval, and you will spend the next year in court-mandated anger management and psychological counseling."

Adrian swallowed hard. It was a harsh sentence. It stripped him of his autonomy, his pride, and his family home. But as he looked at the red numbers representing his ruined legacy, he realized he had no choice.
"I accept," Adrian whispered, picking up a pen with a shaking hand and signing his name on the dotted line.
