CHAPTER 2: The Bride Arrives at the Morgue

Just before sunset, an unusual funeral procession arrived at the city morgue.
Instead of wedding music...
There was only silence.
The white limousine carrying the bride was followed by cars still decorated with fresh flowers and satin ribbons.
Some of the wedding guests hadn't even changed out of their formal clothes.
Many were still crying.
Ryan refused to let anyone remove Emily's wedding ring.
"If she wakes up..." he whispered through tears, "...I want her to know I never left."
The young morgue attendant, Olivia Hayes, watched quietly from the hallway.
She had worked there for only three months.
Every shift still made her nervous.
Her supervisor often joked,
"Never fear the dead... fear the living who pretend to care."
Those words echoed in her mind as Emily's body was placed onto the cold steel examination table.
The senior pathologist barely glanced at the paperwork.
"Female. Twenty-six."
"Cause of death: Poisoning."
"Autopsy tomorrow morning."
He signed the documents without hesitation.
"Lock the room before you leave."
When everyone else had gone...
The morgue became eerily silent.
Olivia couldn't explain why.
Something about the bride felt...
Wrong.
She walked slowly toward the table.
Emily looked as though she were sleeping peacefully after an exhausting day.
Her makeup remained flawless.
Her lips still carried a faint pink color.
Most disturbing of all...
Her cheeks weren't pale.
They looked warm.
Olivia frowned.
Bodies normally became cold very quickly.
She hesitated...
Then gently touched Emily's hand.
Her entire body froze.
It wasn't cold.
It was warm.
Warm...
Like living skin.
"No..."
She quickly pressed two fingers against the bride's wrist.
Nothing.
She moved to the neck.
Still nothing.
Trying to calm herself, Olivia leaned closer and rested one trembling ear against Emily's chest.
The room was completely silent.
For several seconds...
Nothing.
Then...
Thump...
A faint heartbeat.
Almost impossible to hear.
But unmistakably real.
Olivia jumped backward in terror.
Her breathing became frantic.
"There... there's no way..."
Without wasting another second, she sprinted toward the doctor's office.
She had no idea...
May you like
That the terrifying truth waiting behind that heartbeat would soon put her own life in deadly danger...
👉 Chapter 3: Olivia secretly records the bride overnight... but at exactly 2:17 A.M., the camera captures someone entering the morgue—and what happens next leaves everyone speechless.
