CHAPTER 4: The Doctor's Deadly Secret
Olivia ran.
She didn't think.
She didn't stop.
She sprinted through the empty hallway toward the morgue, her heartbeat echoing louder than her footsteps.
She reached the locked door and grabbed the handle.
Locked.
She pounded with both fists.
"Doctor! Open the door!"
No answer.
Inside...
The camera continued recording.
The doctor leaned over Emily's body.
His expression was completely different now.
Cold.
Emotionless.
Almost... frightened.
He gently lifted her chin.
"You should have died yesterday," he whispered.
Emily's fingers moved weakly.
A tear slowly rolled from the corner of her closed eye.
She could hear him.
She simply couldn't move.
The doctor uncapped one of the syringes.
"This will finish what the poison couldn't."
Outside, Olivia desperately searched for something to break the door.
She grabbed a heavy fire extinguisher from the wall.
With all her strength...
She slammed it into the lock.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
CRASH!
The door burst open.
The doctor spun around in shock.
For a split second...
Their eyes met.
Instead of panicking...
He smiled.
A slow...
Terrifying smile.
"You weren't supposed to see this," he said calmly.
Then, without warning, he shoved the syringe deep into his own pocket, switched off the operating lights, and pulled a hidden emergency alarm.
Red warning lights flashed throughout the building.
Within seconds, security guards came running.
But the doctor shouted first.
"She's gone insane!"
"She broke into the morgue and tried to attack me!"
The guards immediately grabbed Olivia.
She struggled desperately.
"Look at the bride!"
"She's alive!"
"No one listened to her."
As security dragged Olivia away...
Emily's left hand slowly slipped off the edge of the examination table.
And one single finger...
Moved.
No one noticed.
