CHAPTER 10 – The Final Truth Changed Everything

The helicopter landed on a private island hidden deep off the Atlantic coast.
Emma expected a prison.
Instead...
she found an underground research city.
Hundreds of scientists worked silently.
Massive computer screens displayed DNA sequences.
Children laughed in classrooms behind glass walls.
None of them looked sick.
Victor walked beside Emma.
"Welcome to Genesis."
Emma stared in disbelief.
"What is this place?"
"The future."
Victor answered calmly.
"For years governments called me a criminal."
"But every child here was dying."
"They're alive because of my research."
Emma's certainty began to crack.
Could Victor actually be telling the truth?
Meanwhile, Adrian inserted Emma's flash drive into his laptop.
A hidden video appeared.
It had been recorded by Eleanor years earlier.
"If you're watching this..."
"Victor has already taken Emma."
Eleanor explained everything.
The fertility clinic accident...
the DNA experiments...
the poisoning...
even Daniel's crimes...
had all distracted everyone from one shocking reality.
Victor had never created Noah.
Emma had.
During pregnancy...
Emma's own immune system had spontaneously rewritten Noah's damaged genes.
A miracle no scientist had ever seen.
Victor spent years trying to reproduce it.
But he never could.
Emma wasn't part of the experiment.
She was the discovery.
Back on the island, Victor prepared the operating room.
Emma climbed onto the table willingly.
"If this saves Noah..."
"I'm ready."
Victor quietly shook his head.
"No."
Emma frowned.
"What?"
He looked at her with unexpected sadness.
"I lied."
"The procedure won't kill you."
"But it will erase every memory you've ever had of Noah."
Emma's face went white.
"You'll forget he ever existed."
Victor whispered.
"It is the only way to stabilize both of your immune systems."
Emma broke down.
Not because she might die.
But because she might live...
without remembering the little boy she loved more than life itself.
Just then...
alarms exploded throughout the facility.
Emergency lights flashed red.
A voice echoed across every hallway.
"Security breach."
"Adrian Whitmore has entered the island."
Victor slowly smiled.
"I wondered how long it would take."
Emma looked toward the exploding entrance doors.
Footsteps thundered closer.
Then one familiar voice echoed through the laboratory.
"Emma!"
She turned.
Adrian stood there...
covered in smoke...
holding Noah safely in his arms.
Victor stared at them...
and, for the first time in years...
he smiled.
"Excellent."
"You've all arrived exactly as I planned."
Behind him, a massive steel vault began to open.
Inside stood dozens of cryogenic chambers.
Each contained a child.
And every single one...
May you like
had Noah's face.
THE END... OR IS IT?
