CHAPTER 5 – The Billionaire's DNA Changed Everything… But the Next Test Was Even More Terrifying

The hospital corridor fell silent.
Everyone stared as Adrian Whitmore held Noah's tiny hand.
For years, Adrian had built one of the largest medical technology companies in America. Newspapers called him a genius. Investors called him untouchable.
But none of that mattered now.
He looked only at the little boy lying in the hospital bed.
His son.
The son he never knew existed.
Tears rolled down Adrian's face as he whispered,
"I'm so sorry... I failed you."
Emma watched in stunned silence.
She had imagined countless scenarios over the years, but never this.
Not once had she imagined that Noah's real father would be standing beside his bed, crying like a broken man.
Before anyone could speak, Dr. Rebecca Lawson rushed into the room holding another folder.
Her expression wasn't hopeful.
It was frightened.
"We have the toxicology report."
Emma stood immediately.
"What did you find?"
The doctor swallowed.
"The poison wasn't random."
Everyone froze.
"It was designed specifically to attack Noah's unique genetic profile."
Adrian's eyes narrowed.
"What does that mean?"
Dr. Lawson looked directly at him.
"Whoever created this poison knew Noah's DNA."
The room exploded with disbelief.
Emma stepped backward.
"That's impossible."
But Adrian suddenly remembered something.
Three years earlier, his company had funded an experimental genetic research program.
Only a handful of people had access to that database.
One of them...
had disappeared after stealing confidential files.
The lead scientist.
Dr. Victor Hayes.
Adrian's face turned pale.
"No..."
he whispered.
"It can't be him."
At that exact moment, Adrian's phone rang.
Unknown number.
He answered.
A distorted voice laughed.
"You finally found your son."
Adrian remained silent.
Then the voice continued.
"If you want him to survive..."
"Bring me the research drive you locked away seven years ago."
The line went dead.
Emma stared at Adrian.
"You know who this is?"
Adrian nodded slowly.
May you like
"Unfortunately..."
"I know exactly who it is."
