Chapter 20 - The Forever Check-InA year later, the Grand Horizon Hotel in Chicago was fully booked once again, but this time, nobody was checking into the wrong room.

The entire ballroom was bathed in warm golden light, decorated with cascading white roses, eucalyptus leaves, and subtle nods to the place where our entire story had started. Rachel stepped into the light. She was breathtaking—wearing a classic, form-fitting ivory lace gown, her dark hair pinned up with delicate pearl accents, walking down the aisle with a radiant, confident smile that made every single breath in my lungs catch.
As she reached the altar and stepped up beside me, I took her trembling hands in mine.
“You look incredible,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion.
“You clean up nicely for a professional tackler,” she whispered back, her eyes shining with tears of absolute joy.

The officiant smiled warmly, looking out across the crowded room before beginning the ceremony. But as we exchanged our vows, promising to stand by each other through corporate wars, hotel room blunders, and every unexpected twist life threw our way, I knew one thing with absolute certainty.
Sometimes, the universe makes mistakes on purpose. Sometimes, a wrong key unlocks the exact right door. And as I slid the platinum band onto Rachel’s finger and leaned in to kiss my wife, I knew we were never checking out.
