Chapter 10 - The Unbroken HorizonThe evening sun dipped below the city skyline, painting the clouds in brilliant shades of gold, amber, and deep violet. The horizon stretched out wide and completely unblemished, promising a future that belonged entirely to me.

I walked back inside the newly christened Sanctuary, my footsteps echoing lightly against the newly laid hardwood floors—no longer heavy with grief, but light, purposeful, and free.
On the wall of the main lobby, where Vesper’s grotesque, gilded family portraits once hung, there was now only a single, beautifully framed quote written in bold, elegant letters:
“They tried to bury us. They didn’t know we were seeds.”
I reached out and touched the glass frame, feeling the solid, unbreakable surface beneath my fingertips. My babies were gone, but their memory lived on in every single life saved within these walls, and in the unyielding strength that now defined my very soul.
