Chapter 15 - The Clearing of a NameBy sunrise, the Castillion estate looked like a fortress under military occupation.

Black-and-white police cruisers lined the perimeter iron gates, federal agents carried boxes of digital hardware and paper files out of the administrative wing, and television news vans crowded the outer hill, broadcasting live coverage of the massive crackdown on the city's underground syndicates.
Inside the grand library, Clara sat by the fireplace wrapped in a warm wool blanket. Her left arm was resting comfortably in its medical cast, and on the mahogany table before her lay her father’s leather diary, open alongside an official document bearing the seal of the federal district attorney.
Leo walked into the room, holding two cups of black coffee. He set one down on the table before pulling up a leather armchair opposite her.
"The federal prosecutor just finished reviewing your father's journal entries alongside the recovered ledger," Leo said quietly, watching her face carefully. "The charges against Julian Bennett from twenty years ago have been officially vacated. Clara stared at the official seal. A heavy weight that had rested on her shoulders her entire life—a shadow cast by a crime her family never committed—finally dissolved into nothingness.
A single tear slipped down her cheek, but this time, it was a tear of profound relief.

"Thank you, Leo," she whispered, looking up to meet his dark, unwavering gaze. "If you hadn't looked at the security footage that night... if you had just ignored my shaking hand... none of this would have come to light."
"I told you before," Leo replied, leaning forward, his voice dropping an octave as his hand gently covered hers on the table. "In my world, everyone tries to hide in plain sight. But you stood your ground. You didn't run."
